Bracket Basics: Leagues, regions, and rounds

Users enter tourney
(arrow)

We structure the teams in each tourney into leagues, regions, and rounds. Here's how:

When a tourney opens, users begin to enter it.

A league of ten teams
(arrow)

When you enter a tourney, your team is placed in a "league."

Each league holds up to ten teams.

A region of three leagues
(arrow)

Each league lives in a "region."

Each region holds three leagues.

The round holds the regions

All the regions are grouped together in the first "round" of the tourney.

Each region competes only against itself!

Regardless of how many teams are left in the tourney, you only have to worry about the nine other teams in your league or the 29 other teams in your region. (We'll explain this next.)
