- What is The Big Tourney? How do I play?↑ top
- Check out Big Tourney U to learn all about what The Big Tourney is and how to play.
- I live in [state/country]. Can I play?↑ top
-
Residents of the regions listed below may play but cannot win prizes. If you do not live in
one of these regions, you may play and win prizes.
- Arizona, Iowa, Louisiana, Maryland, Montana, North Dakota, Vermont.
- Puerto Rico, Guam, and other U.S. territories and foreign territories.
- Any country that is not the U.S. or Canada.
- Where prohibited by law.
- Isn't this gambling?↑ top
-
The short answer: No, fantasy sports are not considered gambling.
The long answer: On October 13, 2006, President George W. Bush signed the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act of 2006 (HR 4411) into law. That law does indeed make the transfer of funds to online gambling sites illegal, but it specifically exempts online fantasy sports games and contests from being considered to be gambling.
- What's this about a $25 cash credit, and how do I take advantage of that?↑ top
- If you buy directly into the MAIN EVENT tourney at the full entry fee ($125), we will credit your account $25. You may apply your credit toward the entry fee of any other tourney or tourneys on the site. You are not allowed to cash this credit out of your account.
- How does the MAIN EVENT tourney differ from the SATELLITE and INSTANT CASH tourneys?↑ top
-
The MAIN EVENT
is our featured tourney that 1) pays out large cash prizes and 2) runs during the final 4-7 weeks of the season. You may guarantee your spot in the MAIN EVENT by paying the $125 entry fee to buy directly in.
The SATELLITE tourneys are an alternate path into the MAIN EVENT tourney. If you don't want to pay the MAIN EVENT tourney's $125 entry fee, you can "earn" your way into the MAIN EVENT instead by finishing at or near the top of a SATELLITE tourney. New SATELLITE tourneys form (and commence) each week of the regular season, leading up to the start of the MAIN EVENT. SATELLITE tourney entry fees are much smaller than the MAIN EVENT entry fee, but you must perform well in the SATELLITE tourney to win a spot in the MAIN EVENT.
The INSTANT CASH tourneys are side games that let you compete in fantasy sports tourneys to win cash prizes—EVERY WEEK. We have INSTANT CASH tourneys as short as one round of competition and as long as five rounds. INSTANT CASH tourneys do not promote winners into the MAIN EVENT tourney, so new INSTANT CASH tourneys are started all season long.
- What if I pay to enter the MAIN EVENT ($125) but it doesn't fill by its cancellation deadline?↑ top
-
When you enter the MAIN EVENT, you'll find a form on your team page that asks you if you are willing to participate in a smaller MAIN EVENT tourney with less prize money should the current tourney fail to reach its minimum number of entrants before the cancellation deadline. There are two options:
- If you answer "yes," we will simply move you into the new, smaller MAIN EVENT tourney.
- If you answer "no," we will credit the tourney entry fee ($125) back to your account.
- What if I win an entry in the MAIN EVENT tourney via SATELLITE but the MAIN EVENT doesn't fill by its cancellation deadline?↑ top

- What is a "freeroll satellite" tourney, and how do I enter one?↑ top
-
A freeroll satellite is a SATELLITE tourney (so the winner wins an entry in the MAIN EVENT tourney) that is free to play—no entry fee is required.
To enter a freeroll satellite tourney, you need a freeroll satellite code. Type your freeroll satellite code into the "Got a freeroll code?" box in the upper-left section of any page, and the system will automatically put you into the freeroll satellite tourney.
Freeroll satellite tourneys are listed on the Tourney Arena page.
- How do I get a freeroll satellite code?↑ top
-
You must obtain a freeroll satellite code from a participating code distributor.
Each freeroll code distributor is allowed to distribute codes to patrons in whatever manner they see fit. Some code distributors are brick-and-mortar establishments, such as a bar or restaurant, that you must visit physically to get a code. Other distributors have an online presence, such as a website, that you must visit to get a code.
Most of our freeroll code distributors are in the process of starting up. We will post a list of distributors as each becomes ready to distribute codes.
- How do I become a freeroll satellite code distributor?↑ top
- If you have a brick-and-mortar establishment or online presence such as a website, blog, newsletter, etc, and are interested in becoming a Big Tourney freeroll satellite code distributor to help drive customers to your business, please send an email to craig@fantasyfootball.com and we'll help you get set up.
- How do I get to my teams?↑ top
- First make sure you're logged in. Then click the MY TOURNEYS link on the right side of the black BIG TOURNEY menu bar near the top of the page.
- One of my players got injured in practice. Where do I go to find my team and change my lineup↑ top
- Once you're logged in, click the MY TOURNEYS link on the right side of the black BIG TOURNEY menu near the top of the page. Click the "Alive" tab if it's not already selected. If your team is not listed there, then your team has either washed out of the tourney or the tourney is now over. In the "ENTRY/Name" column, click the team whose lineup you want to change. Use the "add" and "drop" links to change your lineup. Be sure to click the "Save lineup" button to save your changes when you're done.
- I'm in a tourney, but I don't see any scoring. What gives?↑ top
-
Competition doesn't start until the tourney fills up, and you won't see your team's scoring until competition has started.
We will notify you by email as soon as your tourney fills, but people can enter a tourney up to 30 minutes before the first game starts, so we urge you to check your waiting teams often to make sure you have a lineup ready in case the tourney fills and competition starts.
- How do I see how my team performed?↑ top
-
Once the games have begun, there are two main ways to follow your team's progress and tourney standing.
- Your team page displays a breakdown of your players' stats and scores, including your team's total score. Player stats, player scores, and team scores are updated every minute.
- The tourney bracket displays the total scores of all the teams in your league and region. The teams are displayed in each league in order from most points to fewest points. Team scores and standings are updated every minute.
- When do I get my prize money?↑ top
-
When you win money in an INSTANT CASH or MAIN EVENT tourney, we automatically credit your
Fantasy Planet Games
account when the tourney officially ends. We will notify you via email and system notice as soon as the credit is deposited into your account.
To see your credit, simply click ACCOUNT on the right side of the menu bar near the top of the page, then click the "History" tab of the "Account" section of the page.
You can use your credit to play other games on our site. Whenever you enter another tourney or play another game on our site, the system will automatically use your account credit instead of ask you for your credit card info.
- How do I get my prize money out of my account?↑ top
